This page is dedicated to J. K. Rowling's mother, Anne Volant Rowling, who died on December 30 1990, after a long battle with the disease. She was 45 years old. At the time, Jo was 25. This hard time in Rowling's life became the inspiration for the Mirror of Erised scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. We at In Honor Of Rowling are very sorry for this lose.
