About The Comic Relief:
Comic Relief is a British charity organization that was founded in 1985 by the comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis. The charity helps raise money for Africa and for disadvantaged people in the UK. Comic Relief has raised money in various different ways. From music to books, the charity plays a big roll in the media. Today Comic Relief is a worldwide charity that gives to many causes.

J.K. Rowling And Comic Relief:
In 2001, Comic Relief asked three bestselling authors (Jo being one of them) to submit booklets related to their most famous works. Rowling was among cookery writer and TV presenter Delia Smith and Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding for this project. For every pound raised, a pound would go towards combating poverty and social inequality around the world. The two books that Jo wrote for this cause went on sale in March of 2001. The books have raised £15.7 million (US$30 million) for the charity. Jo has also personally given £22 million to the fund.
