Jo's Pets
When it comes to pets, Jo prefers dogs over cats, as she is allergic to cats (you can see this in the Harry Potter books as Hagrid has a dog, and is allergic to cats). She has had a Jack Russell Terrier, Butch, for several years. Recently she also adopted a blue greyhound called Sapphire (see a picture of Sapphire with Butch here and with Jo here), giving the adoption centre a £1000 (around $2000) donation instead of the suggested £30. Jo also likes to keep tropical fish- "I'm good at keeping tropical fish," and has had a rabbit and a guinea pig in the past, although unless they have some magical powers they will be long gone now, because they were around before the publication of Goblet of Fire! The guinea pig, named Jasmine, belonged to daughter Jessica's nursery and when he (yes, a boy called Jasmine!) needed re-homing Jo took him in, buying Jemima the very vicious rabbit to keep him company.
