This is a very special time of year for any Harry Potter fan. Today, July 31, Joanne Rowling and her beloved character, Harry Potter celebrate their birthdays! What would we do without you two!? Happy 44, Jo! May all your wishes come true!
“It’s important to remember that we all have magic inside of us.” — J. K. Rowling

P.S. Today is also Richard Griffiths birthday who plays Uncle Vernon in the films. Lots of Potter birthdays today, huh! We would like to extend our birthday wishes to Richard.
Sorry for the delay in posting this. A few days ago, I got bit by a spider and had to go to the ER for the horrible pain it was causing me. Stupid spider! Sorry, Aragog. Anyway, i’m fine now and my report is now on the site! Check it out HERE! I hope you enjoy it!
Recently IHOR told you about the one of a kind chair that was being auctioned off. If you recall it was the chair that Jo had sat in while she wrote HP 1 and HP 2. The Scotsman is now reporting that the auction has ended, with the chair being sold for a winning bid of 20,000 Pounds ($33,900). Can you believe that! The auction benefitted the Books Abroad charity.
It’s a chair you would pay a tenner for in a junk shop but, historically, it’s the most important chair in Muggledom, and probably one of the most exceptional and rare pieces of Harry Potter memorabilia ever likely to be offered for sale.
-Matthew Ford (the art dealer who organized the auction)
Thanks Leaky!
An in depth report of my one-on-one meeting with J.K. Rowling is coming very soon. I’m just putting the finishing touches on it. I shall have it to you sometime today. A picture of me and Jo is already in our gallery for your viewing pleasure. There are more pictures to come, as well. As soon as I get home, I will scan in the other photos from that night. Check back soon for our exclusive report! You will only find this at INOR.com!
In a recent interview with Ms. Watson, Emma describes her feelings towards our favorite author.
In the earlier years she was still writing the books and also had a young child, so she was really busy. But now she can be more involved and it’s more of a pleasure. She has been around more, and we are quite similar in a way, so she has been nice to talk to. She’s been very caring and is genuinely a really lovely woman. It’s just wonderful to have her in my life.
Hello, JKR Fans! IHOR is looking for dedicated staff members to join our team. We are looking for newsposters, gallery updaters, and many other positions. Please take a look at our Job Openings Page. If you are interested, please send us an email at angelofmusic2992(@)hotmail(dot)com. Thank you!
The chair Jo sat in as she wrote Harry Potter and the Sorcerors(Philosophers) Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is currently on Ebay!
This is the original chair on which J. K. Rowling wrote the first two Harry Potter books, as an impoverished single mum. The Harry Potter series has gone on to sell in excess of 400 million copies in 67 languages.
Originally donated by J. K. Rowling and sold in 2002 at a small charity auction which received little publicity, this significant item escaped the attention of the world. It is now offered to Harry Potter fans in every corner of the globe. Historically the most important chair in Muggledom, and probably one of the most exceptional and rare pieces of Harry Potter memorabilia ever likely to be offered for sale.
The chair comes with authentication from J. K. Rowling written on Owl Post headed paper, and full provenance.
No Reserve. This is a pre-approved bidder auction, so please contact us soon if you wish to bid for The Harry Potter Chair.
For more information go to www.theharrypotterchair.com . The chair is available for viewing by arrangement in London.
The auction ends at a quarter to midnight on Sunday July 26th Hogwarts/British Summer Time.
You can bid on the chair: here!

The viewing numbers for the ABC special on Jo is in. Drum role, please! The number is 4.4 million viewers! Not as much as the Potter films themselves, but still thats pretty darn good!
In a recent interview with director David Yates, Yates states that Jo will be visiting the set of DH more often.
She’s really gracious, she’s not territorial. She kind of recognizes the challenges of adapting (a book for a film) and she’s really sympathetic to that. She said now that the shooting part is coming to an end she might just pop in more often, which we would love. She was so busy with all the other books she couldn’t (visit much more than once a year).
As you probably already know, Elizabeth Vargas interviewed Jo for a special ABC documentary. And this Thursday we all get to see it! Jo talks about her childhood and success as she takes us around her home. Tune in 8:00 EST to your local ABC channel on Thursday, July 16 for this amazing interview.
